It’s week two. That is exciting and scary all at the same time. This week I mostly did a lot of brainstorming and shopping. I want this to be a room that my family can enjoy for many years to come. These are big decisions and I am not good at making them. Does anyone else struggle with that? Please tell me that I’m not alone. The biggest decision that I made is that I have to choose the sectional before I can move forward with paint and any other choices. So I decided that I have to make a decision. Ironic.
I have been looking online and have a few sectionals picked out. I am waiting for my husband to have time to go shopping with me. I’m going to drag my two teenage boys along too because I really want everyone to love it. I can’t buy it online without being able to see it and feel it. I just can’t do it.
As wives, smart wives that is, we know how to butter the menfolk up. So I made a deal with my husband to clean the garage before we did any painting. UGH!!!!! It’s a disaster in there. Insert…eye rolling and sighing. The things that I agree to just to get some painting done!!! It will be nice to actually find the paint brushes, so I will quit complaining!
Let’s get to the fun stuff….
Inspiration Pics For The Glamily Room:
So as promised last week (You can catch up HERE if you missed week 1) you will really like some of these inspiration pics for my Glamily Room makeover.

I love how the white curtains lighten up the dramatic black walls here.

Although this is a bedroom, this is what I will do if I change my mind on all the walls being black. I will paint the other two walls white with white curtain panels.

I am crazy about these dark walls paired with the light couch and vintage art

My To Do List:
- Pick out and purchase sectional, rug, and ottoman
- Sell existing furniture
- Paint
- Install new shades and curtains
- Choose new lighting (I have a few in mind from Lamps Plus)
- Hang gallery wall around TV
- Hang mirrors above sofa
- Art above piano
The other designers and guest participants are cooking up some crazy good stuff. Follow along with all of their progress this week at Calling it Home

Love all your inspo!! Can’t wait to see how your room comes together!!!
Thank you so much Krystle. I’m a tad bit nervous about pulling off black walls, but I’m going to be brave and dive in!
Jessica I adore the direction that your room is headed towards! You did SO much better than I did in my room this week.
I would love for you to share this post at Thoughts of Home on Thursday. I think our readers would really enjoy it!
Good luck in the upcoming week!
Hi Laura!!! Thank you so much! I linked up to your party. Thanks for the invite!!!
Oh Jess! I can’t wait to see your black walls! It’s going to be beautiful!
I am excited!!! Thanks Dara!! This is going to be fun!
Oh, I am super excited about this room! That last inspiration pic is so gorgeous. I can’t wait to see the black walls, I hope you do all of them! Once all of your other pieces are in the room it won’t feel too dark. I was this close to doing our master instead of our bathroom and your plan has so many similarities to what I want to do in that room. I’ll be watching for more inspiration!
I’m so glad that you like it Kari!! My husband thinks that I am crazy!!! You have the best ideas!!
Your ability to envision a look before it is even born makes you a true artist! It would have never occurred to me to paint a wall black (even though I use black a lot in decorating). I can’t wait to see the final product!
I am thrilled to see Stosie come through my notifications! That is such a nice compliment sis. Thank you!! We’ll see if I can pull this off!! Love you and miss you!!!
Oh my goodness I love the black walls!! I’m the same way when it comes to buying furniture.
I am loving the black walls. They are not scary at all!! I spend way too much time picking things out! Glad to know that I am not alone!
