Welcome to my first Tips on Tuesday.
I will share tips that I have tried myself and can guarantee that they work.
Today’s tip is how to fix loose cabinet knobs.
I have these beautiful glass knobs that I love but they will not stay tightened and it is driving my husband and I nuts. I didn’t want to replace them because I love them and they were a splurge. So I came up with a quick fix. It took a few minutes and was just a couple of dollars.
Teflon tape did the trick.
You can purchase this in the plumbing section of a hardware store for just a few dollars.
Here’s what you do:
- Wrap the threaded part of the screw with a single layer of the tape.
- Make sure to get it tight, avoid overlapping it or getting any creases or buckles in it
- Put the nut back on the screw and turn until tight OR screw directly into the knob depending on the type you have.
- Enjoy your sanity

That’s such a great tip! I use that tape for all kinds of things but never thought of this!!!
I’m so glad Jamie. It is really working great! I hope it works for you too. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
