I am so excited about my new Tuft & Needle Mattress. I have heard it called the best king size mattress under 1000 dollars. I would have to agree!!! Have you heard people say that a good mattress can change your life? I have and I promptly rolled my eyes and thought…dramatic!!! It turns out they were right. It really is like night and day, yes that’s a pun. But seriously, can you believe that a California King mattress fit inside that box?
*I was compensated with merchandise to provide this honest review but all of the opinions are my own.
I was so excited the evening that it came that I couldn’t even wait to get it into the house before I opened it. I had no idea how there could be a giant mattress hiding in there. This is what you find when you open it. You lay it out, cut open the packaging and the mattress takes shape. It’s pretty amazing, just like their company is. My favorite part of Tuft & Needle is their customer service and delivery process. They do not disappoint!!! I received an email just letting me know that it had been shipped, then another one when it arrived and one just to see how I was liking it. The delivery process makes it so easy, it just shows up on your door step, not like a stray cat but more like the Domino’s guy.
I was really worried about the chemicals as all new materials release fumes initially. I was pleasantly surprised that it had very little odor, we let it air out in the garage for a few days just to be safe because I have Lyme Disease and I have to be extra careful. It ended up not even being an issue because they developed their mattresses to be a safer option. It is made right here in the U.S. which is comforting and is tested by CertiPUR-US, a 3rd party foam certifier. It is free from known harmful chemicals and gasses. It is tested to be free from ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, heavy metals, formaldehyde, phthalates, and low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).
Speaking of Lyme Disease, I can honestly say that if you have health problems don’t just assume that the morning stiffness and aches and pains is all caused by the illness. It could very well be your mattress. A high quality supportive mattress cannot be under estimated!!! I noticed a huge difference.
For years we slept on a mattress that resembled two hammocks separated by Mount Everest. Then we thought, hey you know what will make this situation better?? A 3 inch slab of memory foam to sink into to. One thing was for sure… if we didn’t get a new mattress soon, a crane was next on our “to buy” list.
We made the right choice.
We have been sleeping on it for a good 30 days now, so I feel like I can give a fair opinion.
Time for the burning question……Do you like the mattress or not???
YES! I do. Here’s why…..
The company is a dream to work with, the delivery is a snap, the mattress offers great back support, and the price point is very reasonable. Speaking of price..did you know that mattresses are marked up 6-12 times? That’s not right!
It is a safer option as I already stated and that means a lot to me. I once got a foam pad for my son’s bed that smelled so horribly of chemicals even after 2 weeks that I had to send it back.
It is a firm mattress. We wouldn’t mind if it was a tad softer, I guess we got used to sleeping on something way too soft that offered no support. I can imagine you saying in your best valley girl impression…”wait isn’t that a con???” I would have thought so too, but recently I was talking to a friend and she was telling me that she was gifted a new mattress that is way too soft for her. She said that there is no fixing a mattress that is too soft. I had never thought about that before. But it is better to go with a firmer mattress and if you decide it is too firm you can just get some kind of topper. You will still have all of the great support and a little extra cushion.
That is why this mattress has literally thousands of 5-star reviews.

A review wouldn’t be honest without a con list….
There was one con…. It was hard to get rid of our old mattress. I took for granted that when you spend 6-12 times more than you would on a Tuft & Needle Mattress, the perk is that they take the old one with them when they go. We ended up bringing ours to the landfill but a charity in your area may take donations. If you know other options please leave them in the comments below.
There was one more con….I have to kick every one out of my bed before I can enjoy it. Including the dog!!
She’s not even allowed in our room!!
Oh no not the puppy dog eyes, I can’t resist them….
So I may not recommend getting a Tuft & Needle mattress in anything smaller than a king size because it will get cramped!
Once I got a new mattress my bedroom was feeling a little inadequate for the awesomeness. I made some changes so it wouldn’t feel so inferior…Check It out
