Kona Kai Resort Review

Kona Kai Resort ReviewMy husband and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and treated ourselves to a resort getaway in San Diego. It was a wonderful stay. The staff was delightful. They found out it was our anniversary and sent cheesecake and champagne to our room on the house. They didn’t even know that I was a blogger. This is not a sponsored post. All the opinions are my own and I was not compensated for my opinions.

You are greeted by a beautifully appointed lobby that is full of vibrant color and that boasts a polished Spanish style elegance.

The best part is it’s location at the very tip of Shelter Island in San Diego Ca. It has stunning views of the bay.

It is just a short 5 minute drive from downtown too.

The rooms were very nice as well. They were well decorated, clean and comfortable.

The real draw is the pool, marina, and beach.

There are two bars and the pool overlooks the marina. Kona Kai Resort Review Shelter Island San Diego

There is also a private beach for guests.

The pool is one of the positive draws of the property but at the same time when it is a beautiful sunny weekend day it is very crowded because the resort members come to enjoy it as well. So it is not just for hotel guests.

The only other thing to be aware of is that there are not elevators in all parts of the hotel. The area where we stayed did not have an elevator. So if this is a problem for you be sure to ask at the front desk.

There is also a resort fee that you should be aware of. This is a pretty common practice in California.

All things considered it was a great place to stay and we really enjoyed it. I would recommend it.
