I love fall!!!! It is my favorite season. I love the crisp morning air and the changing colors of the leaves. By the time we start to feel a little chill in the air, it is such a welcome change. Since fall has just started I was happy to join a group of bloggers to share our fall home tours. (links at end) I was especially excited to decorate for fall because we finally got around to painting the dining room. I love how it turned out!
I love to bring the outdoors in and right now my pomegranates are ripe for the pickin. They are such a beautiful fruit and I wanted to enjoy looking at them for a few days before they were all gobbled up by my fruit loving son. He could eat them all in one sitting!!
I also fell in love with the plum tones of this fountain grass. If you follow me on Instagram you might have heard about how I saw them in the Starbucks drive thru and shamelessly snipped myself a generous bouquet while everyone looked on. I just smiled and waved. Then I drove down the street to the park where I foraged these olive branches, waving and smiling the whole way.
This is an early fall home tour as we are just a few days into fall. So it might not be the last because as soon as those leaves turn I am looking forward to snipping some branches. I’ve been casing out some prospects. Wink, Wink.
I don’t generally purchase seasonal decor items that have to be stored away because I have nowhere to store them. Instead I like to take cues from nature and use what is available and in season. The olive trees are heavy with olives and they look amazing just plunked into a vase or pitcher.
The reds and pinks of the pomegranates paired so well with the plums and that quickly became my color scheme. I opted to add some black into the dining room to tie in the dark walls.
See the before pic of these stools HERE It was an easy makeover with spray paint. In part 2 of my tour I am going to give a step by step tutorial on how to create a fall tablescape like this one in 10 minutes, no skills needed.
I wanted to give the living room a fall feel too. There isn’t a lot of display space, so I added in some layers. A fur throw and some new black and white buffalo check pillows really helped make it cozy. Those pillow covers are 6.99 on Amazon and they are good for the price. I am crazy about the buffalo check and it was just what this room needed. I included the link below. The fur throw is from home goods but I linked a similar one.
I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
Then I added some vintage encyclopedias to the piano along with some pheasant feathers and a pair of antlers. I bought the feathers from Amazon in the link above.
Yesterday I shared how I use books in my decor HERE
I am looking forward to our first fire of the season. It is always so fun to eat dinner to the warm glow of the fire on a chilly evening.
The TERRARIUM got some fresh succulent buds in autumn tones.
A red plaid scarf adds just that nod to fall that I was hoping for.
I think Willow has the right idea!!!! Time to sit back and enjoy. You should sit back and enjoy the rest of these amazing homes decked out for fall too. Thanks for being here and for reading!!!

Love your space! What color paint did you use for the dark walls? Thanks!

Thank you so much!! I used Black Heron by Valspar. It is an inky charcoal. In certain lights it has a blueish cast.

Oh, Wow! Inspiring, original touches everywhere, using so much of nature’s bounty! I love how you bring the beautiful fall outdoors right inside and make it look so cozy and inviting. I especially like all the natural look fabrics in your decor; the fur throws, the linen and gauze touches in the dining room and the plaid scarf by the fireplace. And yes, I especially like the feathers and grasses that you absconded with (you smart, daring girl)!! There’s so many soft touches everywhere that add so much to that warm, inviting look that I think is becoming your trademark!
