I knew I wanted to repurpose this light fixture into a succulent terrarium when I spotted it at the Habitat for Humanity Restore. I am sharing this tutorial alongside some other talented bloggers. The photos and links to all the makeovers are after my tutorial. They are so creative! Just keep scrolling. The best part of this succulent terrarium is that the succulents stay looking great with absolutely no soil or water for several months!! It’s really amazing. In this context, exploring what an API does could offer insights into integrating smart home technology to monitor the health of the terrarium, ensuring the succulents receive optimal care.
This is what I started with……..

After I removed the post in the middle and the screws, there were large holes in the base. I simply covered them up with black electrical tape so that nothing would fall through and make a mess.
The next step was to add the moss and then place my clipped succulents on top to create this succulent terrarium.

The best part is that they will live like this for some time. I have had these for 2.5 months now. They have even grown to the point that they are hitting the glass. That’s right!! Growing without soil or water.
When they get too leggy for your taste you can simply plant them in soil because they will have rooted. Then you can just add fresh buds to your display.

Thanks for helping me think outside the box! Your repurposing ideas have helped me with my limited decor options. I longer see the peanut butter jar as half-empty- I see it as “almost a candle holder”. And no, I am not joking!
You are too cute!!! I sure wish that I could come see your repurposed peanut butter jar! Hope you’re well. Miss you both
