Have you ever used tropical statement leaves? They make adding drama easy breezy. Speaking of breezy, I could use some of that right now because it’s in the triple digits. Happy first day of summer!! I have 3 easy ways to use tropical statement leaves for you today, but first welcome to the Summer Home Love tour. I joined some talented ladies to share summer decor and entertaining ideas. Follow the links at the end for lots of summer inspiration.
Once again I am bringing the outside in. When I think of seasonal decor it always comes back to nature. A few months back I was helping a friend with a luau party and I clipped palm fronds. I brought them in to clean them and was surprised how good they looked in a vase. So that was my inspiration this summer.
3 Ways To Use Tropical Statement Leaves
1} Clip them and display in a vase.
I used fan leaf palm fronds
…and “Old monstera” leaves
…along with areca palm
I happen to live 30 mins outside of Palm Springs, CA so as you can imagine palm trees grow like weeds here. Literally. If they are not available where you live there are some good faux ones available.

2} Grow tropical houseplants with striking foliage
I added a giant bird of paradise. This giant is still small but it has already sprouted a new leaf which is impressive to see.
I also found a “New monstera” at Lowe’s. I love to buy my plants at Lowe’s or Home Depot because they offer full refunds for plant killers. They get me.
Can we just pause for a minute and talk about this throw? Hello fringe!!! It is from Go My Monday I love that it is round because it is unique and it drapes so well over a chair. It is made from Turkish cotton and the perfect weight for summer.
Back to foliage….
Don’t have a green thumb?
Well then….
3} Get the look with prints and accessories
Add a pillow with tropical statement leaves like these

What do you think of my vintage landscapes above the cabinets?
Not sure that I will leave them there but I’m enjoying it like this for awhile.
It’s a work in progress (always) but it feels a lot like summer around here. We have been enjoying the break from the school schedule. I also love the long evenings when it cools down plus my hydrangeas are blooming. So many good things!!!

I really love your ideas. Beautiful vintage paintings, too! I kinda like that little light. In my kitchen, I’d prob paint it copper. But the black looks cool with the tones in your paintings.
