Well another year has come and gone!!! I wanted to quickly highlight my best of 2017 and share my focus for 2018. Even though I am in shock that it is 2018 it is exciting. It feels like a clean slate, a blank canvas. I do appreciate the feeling of a fresh start. 2017 brought some unexpected changes my way which I haven’t mentioned here or on my social media. I was quiet on the blog the last couple of months as I tried to decide if I was even going to continue blogging. Well I’m here writing this so that means that I decided to be like Dory and just keep swimming, posting and sharing as I can.
Here is the Reader’s Digest version…
My dad developed dementia in February of 2017. It has been a crazy ride of getting him stable and my mom doesn’t drive and is legally deaf. They need the help of myself and my sister for grocery shopping, doctor appts, and work around the house. It ended up world’s better than I thought at first when we were even having to bathe him. He is stable and things are going as well as can be expected. With that added responsibility I find myself with even more demands on my time than just being a wife, maintaining a home, raising my two teenage boys and our HEALTH ISSUES. But my parents are both hysterical and they make me laugh out loud all the time. I don’t consider it work, just some days it doesn’t feel like there is enough of me to go around. I know that I am not alone in that. I think so many of us feel like we are spread paper thin.
Warning…you will want to go there!
With all that being said my focus for 2018 is going to be…
It isn’t easy to juggle everything and I know it will take a lot of determination to stay focused and accomplish all.the.things. I am not going to do anything differently than I always do. I am going to face each challenge as it comes with positivity and do the best that I can with what I have got. Well you know …that is the plan. I know I will fall repeatedly but I will also get back up.
My focus for 2018 is going to be on losing weight and beating back my
LYME DISEASE because it has been getting the better of me lately. I started a Ketogenic diet 4 weeks ago. It is going to take determination because after 4 weeks I have only lost a couple pounds. But it’s a couple pounds that I didn’t gain so there is the positivity. I will share a few updates on how it’s going down the road if anyone is interested. But I am determined not to give up.
I am also going to keep at it with the blog. Determined to keep it going. I do love how it pushes me to keep our home up and it gives me the motivation to get projects done. Because if I didn’t blog I would never start, let alone finish another project. In fact tomorrow I am joining the $100 ROOM CHALLENGE again to finish the project I started for the summer round of the challenge.

I don’t want to continue without saying thank you for such a great year and for all of the support. I appreciate every view and every comment. I hope to continue to provide easy projects and recipes that inspire you like so many of you inspire me.
BEST OF 2017
As fun as it is to think about what tomorrow brings it is encouraging to take a minute and look back at what I have already accomplished. So I thought it would be fun to reminisce about my best blog posts of 2017.
After compairing my numbers with 2016 turns out that I more than doubled my pageviews and tripled my visitors. I also reached 10k on Instagram. I collaborated with bloggers that inspired me to start blogging in the first place. While my numbers are small beans compared to others, they are big to me. After all comparison is the thief of joy. So I am just going to celebrate MY accomplishments and help others celebrate theirs.
