We are always looking for ways to be more organized at my house. One of the things that has helped to corral the pet clutter is by making a dog walking station by the front door. Mine is very simple but it works so well. I am going to show you ours but first I want to tell you about my go-to place for bargain pet supplies.
You won’t believe how much money I saved on Willow’s pet supplies. I recently found some really great buys at the 99 Cents Only Store. Did you know that they have tons of pet supplies? I was pleasantly surprised at the selection. I paid the same price for 12 items at the 99 that I would have paid for one harness at a pet store. That made it really fun to fill my basket up with all kinds of goodies to pamper my pooch.
I learned all over again that the 99 Cents Only Stores have all of my favorite name brands at a price that can’t be beat. This time for pet supplies, which was an unexpected and happy find. I like to go first thing in the morning right after I take my son to school, that way I can grab the great deals first.
Ideas for Making a Dog Walking Station:
- Find a location that is convenient for everyone
- Choose a basket or bin to store the items
- Fill it with the essentials
Here is the dog walking station in our home. In the entry way I have very little space and it is part of the living room. I don’t want to look at clutter and leashes. So to take up as little room as possible I hang this market basket on the coat rack and it holds the essentials without being obvious and messy looking.
Do you see her waiting patiently for her walk?
Inside I keep Willow’s harness and leash, waste bags to easily grab, and pet wipes for wiping her paws and unmentionables (yea I do that) I also use a drop of cedarwood essential oil on her paws to keep fleas away.
My teenagers usually take her on her walks so this makes it easy to find what they need. That means they can’t say “I couldn’t find the leash.” It makes my job easier.
With all the money I saved I bought myself this cute mug at the 99 too. I love it so much I want to get a few more for fall.
I also found Willow some new bath essentials, a towel and a new brush. I only have sons so I buy Willow all the pink things like this super cute towel to wrap her in after her baths.
She got a new feeding station too. I found that little chindi mat near the bath supplies and grabbed a couple of white bowls. You can’t beat $3.
Willow doesn’t eat dry food by itself…ahem spoiled. This is her saying please tell me those boys didn’t eat all the pork roast again.
I also found her a bone, a chew toy and a tie out stake.
I spent 13 dollars on all of this and now I have enough extra cash for more throw pillows!!!
So before you go broke buying pet supplies check the 99 because you never know what you’ll find when you “do the 99” (shop at 99 Cents Only Stores)!
