Mid Century Inspired Teen Boy’s Room One Room Challenge Week 5

It’s official, it is week 5 and I’m sweatin!!  If you are new here and would like to catch up you can!! Week 1 // Week 2 // Week 3 // Week 4 // If I was being graded for punctuality on this update I would get an F. But…if we are grading on a curve I would get an A+ for positivity because this girl has her positive pants on and they are stretchy. That in itself is positive, I mean who complains about wearing stretchy pants? No one EVER!!

The paint saga continued and let’s just say “the third time’s a charm” does not apply here. I need a new saying including something about the fifth time because that is how many coats of paint it took me to get the walls to where I didn’t want to cry and the closet doors to not end up as firewood.

Why is this positive?? One, I found a new friend named Floetrol (use it!!!) and two because tonight we finished all the painting!!! So that is like the best news I could ever share.

The closet doors are up, just plain white, but up. The new door is hung, painted and a new dark knob added. The shade is up. The desk is built and I love it. Do you?

Belham Living Carter Mid Century Modern Writing Desk

It is from Hayneedle and it came right on time, is good quality and just the right size. See it HERE

This is the dresser that I picked up from IKEA. I liked that the drawer cut outs are similar and I plan to paint the drawer fronts on the desk white.

Mid Century Inspired Teen Boy's Room

Still sporting my stretchy pants and I am going to tell you about my fab plans for this weekend. Sometimes really good things come at really bad times, like the last weekend before the One Room Challenge reveal. So this really good thing is a weekend getaway with my main squeeze. How special is it that my husband wants to take me somewhere nice just because and he planned it??? It is only the coolest historic hotel in our area. The Mission Inn. I am going to show you all the pics!!! To top it off we are seeing Cirque Du Solei tomorrow night. Now if I was wearing my non-strectchy mom jeans from 1992 I would tell you how I couldn’t go away right now when I have sooo much to finish, and I may possibly run out of time!!! But nope! I’m not even going to mention it. What I am going to say is that relationships and family are the important things in life, not THINGS.

Just for kicks…..
